Yes! We make all the custom clothing to specific measurements so long as the measurements are taken properly, the garment will fit. We guarantee fit to the measurements provided and are not responsible if they are incorrect. We have successfully fitted custom clothing from all over the USA.

No. The West Virginian Sutler cannot make a uniform for less than what you can buy them for from other sutlers. However, we will make a custom uniform if specifically requested by a customer.

Yes. As long as the fabric is of good quality and there is enough to create the dress you want. Please email our staff for dress styles and prices. The West Virginian Sutler does reserve the right to refuse to work with any fabric. We advise that you consult our seamstress before you make any purchases because many fabric stores do not accept returns on cut fabric.

Yes. As long as you provide a clear photograph or professional drawing (such as Godey's fashion plates) we can reproduce what is seen in the picture, in most cases. The final creation may differ slightly from the photograph due to supply differences or creative changes, but we do take pride in getting as close as possible to the original and our seamstress will contact you for approval of any changes that were not discussed at the time of order. Our one goal is to satisfy you, the customer.

The average time is 4 weeks, but the time it takes to make a dress varies with each gown. For a simple dress it may take as little as two weeks to get, but the more detailed gown may take up to two months. We will tell you how long it is expected to take when you place your order, but we do not start custom work, such as dresses, until we receive the 50% deposit and measurements for it. We also take into consideration how many orders are ahead of yours (orders are placed on the list chronologically by the date the we received the completed order), and we do not ship until we received the final payment. If you need something by a certain date be sure to let us know at least eight weeks in advance. 

Yes. We will ship your package to Europe or North America. Shipping out of the US will have additional shipping charges please ask for rates.

There are three different payment options. Paypal, which will also process major credit cards; Check or Money Orders, made out to Karen Lovelace; Cash, this option is only available if you choose to pick up your order in person.
